Tip: How to watch videos on your iPod touch in portrait mode

This is a nifty feature I stumbled upon yesterday when I loaded a video podcast in from the Music app instead of the Videos app from the iPod touch. The cover art used to be displayed, but instead, surprisingly, I found the video playing vertically. If you turn the touch horizontally, it’ll switch to landscape mode. I hope this will probably make it to the video mode in the future.

So to recap, to watch a video podcast in portrait mode:

1. Go to the Music app
   
2. Go to Podcasts
   
3. Choose a video podcast
   
4. Choose a episode
   

How about TV shows, movies, and other videos?
Since this feature is only in the Music app, the only way I know to get it to work is to create playlists with video, and play the video from playlists. So here’s how you get videos to play on the touch in portrait mode:

1. Go to the Music app
   
2. Go to Playlists
   
3. Choose the playlist that has videos 
   
4. Choose a video, and voila!
